Our delightful on-sight tea pavilion is the perfect place to unwind, whether you're looking for a sitdown after a stroll around the house or the grounds, or you're gearing up to go exploring. Open from ten o'clock every day until half an hour before we close. We serve a variety of light lunches, soups and of course, hot drinks and cake. If you have allergies or dietary concerns please inform a member of staff before placing your order.
Picnincs are very welcome on the lawn in front of the hall in all weathers. Bins can be found near the gate to the car park, and beside the Tea Pavilion. We ask that all picnics are held on the lawn and not elsewhere in the grounds to help look after our free-roaming herd of deer.
On weekends (including bank holidays) our volunteers will be serving some era-appropriate sweet treats: seventeenth-century honey cake and drinking chocolate. Mentioned as a favourite of Sir Clive and his wife Lady Graham in Sir Clive's memoirs, these are freshly made on-site every day by our team of volunteer costumed interpreters using only ingredients that would've been used at the time. Occasionally our volunteers will run events where you can have a go at doing this for yourself - keep an eye on our Facebook, Twitter and Instagram feeds for details of when these are being held. You'll find our social media links in the footer below.
